Contamination of lead, cadmium, total mercury and total arsenic in aquatic products and dietary exposure risk assessment in Shangyu District,Shaoxing City from 2017 to 2022
Objective To investigate the contamination of heavy metals in aquatic products and to assess the risk of dietary intake in Shangyu District,Shaoxing City. Methods The concentrations of four heavy metals, including lead, cadmium, total mercury and total arsenic, were determined in market-sold aquatic products in Shangyu District,Shaoxing City from 2017 to 2021.The human health risk of dietary exposure was assessed with the target hazard coefficient method. Results A total of 411 aquatic products were determined, and the mean concentrations of lead, cadmium, total mercury and total arsenic were 0.118,0.450,0.048 mg/kg and 1.344 mg/kg.The proportions of cadmium and lead concentrations exceeding the standard were 5.60%and 0.56%,and the proportions of total mercury and total arsenic concentrations exceeding the standard were not calculated. The composite target hazard coefficients of fishery,crustace-an,molluscan and alga aquatic products were 0.368,0.584,0.896 and 0.298,respectively.Conclusions The contamination of cad-mium and total arsenic is heavier than lead and total mercury in aquatic products in Shangyu District, and there is a low risk of dietary intake of heavy metals in aquatic products.
