Working pressure,psychological well-being and their influencing factors among enterprise employees in Pudong New Area of Shanghai Municipality
Objective To investigate the working pressure and psychological well-being and to identify their influencing factors a-mong enterprise employees in Pudong New Area of Shanghai Municipality,so as to provide insights into promotion of psychological health among occupational populations.Methods Employees working in a manufacturing enterprise in Pudong New Area of Shanghai Munici-pality were sampled using a convenient sampling method on November 2022.The social and psychological characteristics of jobs were measured using the Job Content Questionnaire(JCQ)and the well-being was measured using the WHO-5 Well-Being Index(WHO-5).Results A total of 206 enterprise employees were enrolled.The job demand,job autonomy and social support scores were(3.88±0.50),(3.46±0.52),(4.02±0.51)points,and the proportions of high job demands,job autonomy and social supports were 55.3%,60.2%and 26.7%,respectively.The score of psychological well-being was(16.78±4.26)points,and 82.0%of employees had a high psychological well-being index.There was a high proportion of high psychological well-being index among employees without alcohol consumption(x2=6.93,P<0.05),with high job autonomy(x2=17.47,P<0.05)and high social support(x2=5.82,P<0.05),and the job autonomy(3.52±0.49 points)and social support scores(4.10±0.45 points)were higher among employees with a high psy-chological well-being index than among those(3.14±0.53 and 3.62±0.58 points)with a low psychological well-being index(t=4.11 and 4.67,both P values<0.01).Employees with alcohol consumption had a low psychological well-being index[odds ratio(OR)=0.30,P<0.05],and employees with high job autonomy and social supports had a high psychological well-being index(OR=7.89 and 4.79,both P values<0.05).Conclusions The overall well-being index is high among employees in this enterprise.Encouragement of healthy lifestyles and reasonable regulation of psychological pressure are recommended to increase the psychological well-being.
