Research on the performance of stress absorption layer regener-ated mixtures based on fine separation of RAP fine materials
Fine separation technology can solve the problem of high variability in traditional recycled RAP,but it will produce over 50%of RAP fines during use.Due to gradation limitations,it is difficult to recycle this portion of fine material through conventional methods. Therefore,it is urgent to explore multiple utilization methods for RAP fine materials. To study the feasibility of using finely separated RAP fine aggregate for stress absorption layer recycled mixtures, this paper determines the maximum content of RAP fine aggregate based on the recoverability and gradation adjustability of recycled as-phalt.Three types of RAP fine aggregate content, namely 0%,10%,and 20%,are designed for stress absorption layer recycled mixtures. The performance of stress absorption layer recycled mixtures is evaluated using rutting tests,SCB tests at low temperatures, low temperature SCB test and low-temperature small beam bending test, and OT tests. The influence of RAP fine aggregate content on performance is analyzed. The results show that the maximum dosage of RAP fine aggregate for stress absorbing layer asphalt mixture is 20%.With an increase of RAP fine material content, the high-temperature performance of the mixture will be improved to a certain extent, but the low-temperature crack resistance, water stability, and anti reflection crack performance will be slightly reduced.More-over,RAP fine material is feasible for use in stress absorption layers.
