Progress in the Application of Glucocorticoids in Patients with Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)is a newly emerging infectious disease characterized by fever, thrombocytopenia and leukopenia. It often involves various complications and may even progress to cytokine storms, leading to worsening conditions.Glucocorticoids play a crucial role in reducing cytokine storms;however, their immunosuppressive effects increase the risk of infection.Currently, the therapeutic efficacy of glucocorticoids in treating SFTS and their relationship with fungal infections remain unclear. This review summarizes recent research on the use of glucocorticoids in the treatment of SFTS.
