Quantitative Investigation of Ethylene Oxide and Dioxane in Nonoxinol Base on a Standard Addition Method
Objective:To establish a method for the determination of ethylene oxide and dioxane in nonoxinol-9 by headspace gas chromatography. Methods:A capillary column with 6%cyanopropylphenyl-94%dimethylpolysiloxane as stationary phase was used. The hydrogen flame ionization detector(FID)was used with nitrogen as the carrier gas.Determination was done under programmed temperature rise. The contents of each component were calculated by a standard addition method. Results:All components in blank or sample had no interference to the determination of ethylene oxide and dioxane, and the recovery rates were high. Conclusion:This method has high sensitivity and low matrix effect, and can be used to quantitatively control ethylene oxide and dioxane in nonoxinol.
