Study on the Auxiliary Anesthetic Effect of Intravenous Administration of Lidocaine in Painless Gastroenteroscopy
Painless gastrointestinal and colonal endoscopy are commonly used in clinical practice as a method of receiving examination under sedation and sleep state, during which patients experience significantly reduced pain and discomfort.Propofol,a general anesthetic,is commonly used in painless gastroscopy due to its ability to significantly reduce pain and discomfort during the examination. However, propofol anesthesia may result in cardiovascular and respiratory suppression.Lidocaine administered intravenously(IVL)as an adjuvant anesthesia can effectively reduce surgical stress responses, reduce the amount of anesthesia and analgesic drugs during the surgery, thereby improving surgical safety and contributing to better patient recovery. This usage has now been extended to general anesthesia and painless gastrointestinal endoscopy, where IVL has been used as an adjuvant anesthetic. This article summarizes the effects of IVL as an adjuvant anesthetic for painless gastrointestinal endoscopy and its latest research.
