Objective To explore the relationship of serum neuregulin 4(Nrg4)level with diabetic microvascular complication(DMC).Methods A total of 136 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)were divided into DMC group and non-DMC group. The clinical data were collected and serum Nrg4 level was measured. The influencing factors for T2DM combined with DMC were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression, and the predictive value of Nrg4 for T2DM combined with DMC was analyzed by ROC curve. Results Compared with non-DMC group, the age was older, duration of diabetes was longer, microalbuminuria was higher, and serum Nrg4 level was lower in DMC group(P<0.05).The longer duration of diabetes was the independent risk factor for T2DM combined with DMC(P<0.05),and higher serum level of Nrg4 was the protective factor(P<0.05).The AUC value of Nrg4 predicting T2DM combined with DMC was 0.730[95%CI(0.644-0.817),P<0.05].When the best diagnostic threshold was 5.87 pg/mL,the sensitivity and specificity of the prediction were 92.2%and 45.8%,respectively.Conclusion Serum Nrg4 level is decreased in T2DM patients combined with DMC.Nrg4 has certain predictive value for DMC.
