Objective To observe the efficacy of dexmedetomidine combined with electroacupuncture in the patients undergoing percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic surgery. Methods Sixty patients undergoing percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic surgery were randomly divided into two groups with 30 cases each. The patients in group C were given dexmedetomidine treatment, and those in group A were given dexmedetomidine combined with electroacupuncture.VAS pain score and Ramsay sedation score were recorded at the time points of channel establishment(T1),nerve decompression(T2),and at the end of surgery(T3).The occurrence of adverse reactions in both groups ware recorded. Results At T1 and T2,the VAS pain scores were lower, and the Ramsay scores were better in group A than those in group C(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the VAS and Ramsay scores between the two groups at T3(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was slightly lower in group A than that in group C(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared to dexmedetomidine alone, combined use of dexmedetomidine and electroacupuncture for percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic surgery provides more satisfactory sedation and analgesia without increasing adverse effects.
