Objective To analyze the sleep quality and relevant influencing factors in elderly patients with vertigo. Methods According to Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score,155 elderly vertigo patients were divided into two groups of A(with good sleep quality,PSQI score≤7 points,49 cases)and B(with poor sleep quality,PSQI score>7 points,106 cases). The severity of vertigo, nutritional status,self-care ability and frailty of two groups were compared.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors for poor sleep quality in elderly patients with vertigo. Results The PSQI score of 155 elderly vertigo patients was(11.08±4.76)points.The incidence of poor sleep quality was 68.39%(106/155).Compared with group A,the patients in group B were older and had less frequent exercise, more severe vertigo, higher risk of malnutrition and poorer self-care ability(P<0.05).Compared with group A,the patients in group B had higher proportion of female, marital abnormalities(unmarried/divorced/widowed),≥3 complications, readmission due to vertigo, frailty, and lower proportion of albumin≥35 g/L(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age>80 years old, female, marital abnormality,≥3 complications, severe vertigo and malnutrition risk were the independent risk factors for poor sleep in elderly vertigo patients(P<0.05),and the frequency of exercise≥3 times per week,no readmission due to vertigo and no frailty were the protective factors(P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of poor sleep quality in elderly patients with vertigo is high. The sleep quality assessment should be strengthened, and reasonable intervention measures should be developed to prevent and improve sleep quality.
