Application value of modified patient-generated subjective global assessment in patients with malignant tumor
Objective To evaluate the clinical application value of modified patient-generated subjective global assessment(mPG-SGA)in the patients with malignant tumor. Methods A total of 100 patients with malignant tumor synchronously accepted mPG-SGA and nutritional risk screening 2002(NRS2002)for the nutrition screening and evaluation. The consistency, correlation and screening value of the two assessment methods were analyzed. Results Twenty-six patients with nutritional risk(NRS2002 score≥3 points)were screened by NRS2002,while 31 patients with malnutrition(mPG-SGA score ≥3 points)were screened by mPG-SGA.There was statistical difference in the results of nutrition evaluation between mPG-SGA and NRS2002(P<0.01),which had a strong consistency(Kappa=0.731,P<0.01).mPG-SGA and NRS2002 scores were positively correlated with the age(P<0.05),but were negatively correlated with body weight,BMI and albumin in the patients with malignant tumor(P<0.05).Moreover,mPG-SGA score was positively correlated with NRS2002 score(P<0.01).The AUC values of NRS2002 and mPG-SGA scores in screening nutrition problems of the patients with malignant tumor were 0.913 and 0.957,respectively(P>0.05).Taking 1 point as the optimal cut-off value for mPG-SGA score, the corresponding sensitivity and specificity were 100%and 60.2%,respectively.Taking 2 points as the optimal cut-off value for NRS2002 score, the corresponding sensitivity and specificity were 100%and 46.9%,respectively.Conclusion mPG-SGA is a simple and rapid nutritional assessment method with higher sensitivity and specificity, and is appropriate for the nutrition screening and evaluation in the patients with malignant tumor.
