Diagnostic value of triglyceride glucose index for coronary heart disease in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of the triglyceride glucose(TyG)index for the development of coronary heart disease(CHD)in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods According to the results of coronary angiography,228 elderly patients with T2DM were divided into two groups of A(with CHD,149 cases)and C(without CHD,79 cases). The relevant clinical data were compared between the two groups.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for CHD in elderly patients with T2DM.The diagnostic value of TyG index for CHD in elderly patients with T2DM was evaluated using ROC curve. Results The proportion of hypertension,HbA1c,FBG,TG,TC,LDL-C,AST,Plt and TyG index in group A were higher than those in group C(P<0.05).Hypertension and higher AST and TyG index were the independent risk factors for CHD in elderly patients with T2DM(P<0.05).The area under the curve of TyG index in diagnosing the occurrence of CHD was 0.808[95%CI(0.748-0.867)](P<0.01).Taking 9.028 as the optimal cut-off value for the TyG index to diagnose the occurrence of CHD,the sensitivity and specificity were 64.6%and 81.9%,respectively.Conclusion TyG index has a diagnostic value for CHD in elderly patients with T2DM.
