Objective To observe the efficacy of modified homogenate diet preparation in postoperative treatment of elderly patients with colorectal cancer. Methods A total of 112 elderly patients with colorectal cancer were randomly divided into two groups, with 56 cases each.Group A was given modified homogenate diet preparation for enteral nutrition after operation, and group B was given parenteral nutrition and self-made liquid diet after operation. The nutritional status, immune function and postoperative complications of the two groups were compared after 2 weeks of treatment. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, total protein, albumin, prealbumin,IgG,IgM and IgA were higher in group A than those in group B(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications was lower in group A than that in group B(5.36%vs.32.14%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The modified homogenate diet preparation can improve the nutritional status and immune function and reduce postoperative complications in elderly patients with colorectal cancer.
