Relationship between dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI parameters and positive expression of PD-L1 protein evaluated by three methods in esophageal cancer tissues
Objective To investigate the relationship between dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI(DCE-MRI)parameters and positive expression of programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)protein evaluated by three methods in esophageal cancer tissues. Methods Twenty-three patients with esophageal cancer underwent DCE-MRI examination, and the DCE-MRI parameters of Ktrans,Kep and Ve were obtained.Streptomyces antibiotin protein-peroxidase binding method was used for immunohistochemical staining of esophageal cancer tissue samples, and positive expression of PD-L1 protein was evaluated by three methods of tumor positive score(TPS),combined positive positive score(CPS)and immune cell score(ICS).Correlations of DCE-MRI parameters with positive expression of PD-L1 protein by three methods in esophageal cancer tissues were analyzed. Results Patients with esophageal cancer were with Ktrans 0.20(0.16,0.27)min-1,Kep 0.42(0.29,0.51)min-1 and Ve 0.46(0.36,0.62).The positive expression rates of PD-L1 protein evaluated by TPS,CPS and ICS were 26.1%,34.8%and 47.8%,respectively.Ktrans was increased, while Kep was decreased in PD-L1 protein positive expression group evaluated by TPS(P<0.05).Ktrans was increased, while Ve was decreased in PD-L1 protein positive expression group evaluated by CPS(P<0.05).PD-L1 protein positive expression evaluated by CPS was negatively correlated with Ktrans(P<0.05),and positively correlated with Ve(P<0.05).PD-L1 protein positive expression evaluated by TPS was positively correlated with Ktrans and Kep(P<0.05).Conclusion DCE-MRI parameters are closely related to positive expression of PD-L1 protein in esophageal cancer tissues evaluated by TPS and CPS.
