Efficacy of"Shugan Jianpi"acupuncture combined with pediatric massage in treatment of children with spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity type tic disorders
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of"Shugan Jianpi"acupuncture combined with pediatric massage in the treatment of the children with spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity type tic disorders.Methods Seventy-eight children with spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity type tic disorders were randomly divided into two groups with 39 cases each.Group C received psychological and behavioral therapy twice a week.Group A received"Shugan Jianpi"acupuncture combined with pediatric massage three times a week on the basis of group C.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.The scores of Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS)and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scale and clinical efficacy before treatment(T0),immediately after treatment(T1)and one month after treatment(T2)were compared between the two groups.The occurrence of adverse reactions in two groups was recorded.Results There were no significant differences in YGTSS score and TCM syndrome scale score between the two groups at T0(P>0.05).YGTSS score and TCM syndrome scale score were lower at T1 and T2 than those at T0 in both groups(P<0.05),which in group A were lower than those in group C(P<0.05).The total effective rate of group A was higher than that of group C(92.31%vs.61.54%)(P<0.05).No significant adverse reactions occurred in both groups.Conclusion On the basis of psychological and behavioral therapy,additionally use of"Shugan Jianpi"acupuncture combined with pediatric massage can improve the symptoms and quality of life in the children with spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity type tic disorders.
