Clinical characteristics and influencing factors for benign and malignant pulmonary nodules
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and influencing factors for the benign and malignant pulmonary nodules. Methods A total of 97 patients with pulmonary nodules were divided into two groups of A(with malignant nodules,54 cases)and B(with benign nodules,43 cases)according to surgical pathology. The clinical data and CT imaging features of the two groups were compared and the risk factors for malignant pulmonary nodules were analyzed. Results The age was older in group A than that in group B(P<0.05).Compared to group B,group A had higher proportions of smoking history, nodule diameter>10 mm,nodule in upper lobe, subsolid nodule, partially solid nodule, pure ground glass nodule, lobular sign, burr sign, tumor vascular sign, cavity sign and pleural indentation sign, and lower proportion of peripheral satellite lesion(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that older age, subsolid nodule, nodule diameter>10 mm,lobular sign, burr sign and tumor vascular sign were the independent risk factors for malignant pulmonary nodule, while peripheral satellite lesion was the independent protective factor(P<0.05).Conclusion Benign and malignant pulmonary nodules are closely related to the clinical data and CT imaging features of the patients. The older age, subsolid nodule, nodule diameter>10 mm,lobular sign, burr sign and tumor vascular sign are the independent risk factors for malignant pulmonary nodule, while peripheral satellite lesion is the independent protective factor.
