Study on high temperature thermoplasticity of 65 Mn steel continuous casting billets
High temperature mechanical properties of 65 Mn steel continuous casting billets were tested using Gleeble1500 thermal simulator in 600~1 350 ℃.Using SEM to observe morphology and microstructure of fracture surface after high tem-perature tensile testing, analyze fracture mechanism,stress-strain curves, high temperature strength, and thermoplastic properties of steel at different temperatures. Results show that temperature range of first brittle zone of 65 Mn is Tm~1 294 ℃,and temperature of third brittle zone is lower than 896 ℃.The fracture in first brittle zone is due to enrichment of harmful impurity elements P,S,O,etc.between grain boundaries, while fracture in third brittle zone is mainly caused by embrittlement of two-phase zone in austenite to ferrite transformation zone.By studying high temperature mechanical proper-ties of steel, basis is provided for surface and internal quality control of 65Mn steel continuous casting billets.
