Study on casting stability of special welding steel with high titanium and low aluminum
Production difficulty of high titanium and low aluminum special welding steel is high, and production process is unstable.Through physical examination and theoretical analysis of floater and nodules that occur during continuous casting production process,it is found that main reason affecting casting stability is combination of oxygen, nitrogen, and titanium in steel, forming titanium like inclusions.By adopting measures such as purifying alloys, reducing SiO2 activity in refining slag, and adjusting titanium alloying time, molten steel purity has been improved.Nitrogen mass fraction in steel decreased from 39 × 10-6 to 28 × 10-6,oxygen mass fraction decreased from 29 × 10-6 to 21 × 10-6,and titanium recovery rate increased from 62.5%to 65.3%.Continuous casting process was stable, and problems of slag inclusion on continuous casting billet surface and scar formation on wire rod surface were solved.
