Application of roller die to high carbon steel wire continuous drawing
Using two types of total strain for rolling die drawing of high carbon steel wire and comparing it with traditional drawing.Results show that drawing at total strain 1.12,tensile strength,torsional performance,bending performance,mi-crostructure,and twist breakage rate of steel wire drawn by roller die are similar to those of traditional drawing,drawing at total strain 2.21,compared with traditional drawing,roller die drawing of steel wire has higher tensile strength,poorer tor-sional and bending properties,greater unevenness in microstructure,and significant increase in twist wire breakage rate.Under same factors such as steel wire material,machine power,drawing speed,and pass compression rate,energy con-sumption of roller die drawing is similar to that of traditional drawing.
