Research on influence of residual austenite transformation on bainitic steel size expansion
To study influence of residual austenite transformation on bainitic steel round barssize expansion during tempering process through tempering expansion test. Results indicate that residual austenite transformation occurs in bainitic steel sample when tempered above 400 ℃,and complete transformation occurs when tempered above 520℃.The higher the tempering temperature in temperature range of 400~520℃,the higher the transformation of residual austenite, the larger the percentage of size expansion in length direction of tempered bainitic steel round bar, showing good linear relationship between the two.By combining relationship between residual austenite transformation and tempering temperature,as well as relationship between length expansion ratio and residual austenite transformation,it is possible to predict size expansion of different specifications of bainitic steel at different tempering temperatures, providing reference for size control in production process.
