The design of an anchor mooring type floating dock is required by the regulations to check its heeling angle during ship lifting operations, and make sure that the deck edge will not go into the water when it tilts under specified wind pressure. The conventional method for calculating vessel heeling cannot be used as it is,because it is valid only for free floating vessels. The mechanism of typical anchoring modes effecting the heeling angle of the floating dock is studied, which indicates that the bottom anchoring will increase the heeling angle and the dispersed anchoring will do the opposite. The formula for calculating the heeling angle of the floating dock in anchor mooring modes is derived. The anchoring system selection, the anchoring forces and their effect on a small floating dock is comprehensively analyzed as an example.
