The operation of propeller in uniform flow is simulated with SST k-ω(Shear Stress Transfer kω)turbulence model plus Schnerr-Sauer cavitation model and RANS(Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes)equations calculation.The cavitation area on blade surface of the propeller is determined.The study shows that the percentage of cavitation area on blade surface of the propeller is in good agreement with the experimental results and the numerical method is accurate enough for evaluating the cav-itation area of the propeller in uniform flow.
