Characteristics and Normative Analysis of Case Study Methods in Institution-al Research
The study takes papers in the cases of Chinese Institutional Research and four core journals as the research object,and constructs the analysis framework from the characteristics and normative dimensions of case study to evaluate the application status of the case study method.It finds that self-research and manage-ment research as the basic characteristics of institutional research is reflected by the application of case study method;case study topics are not evenly distributed;some of the papers lacks normalization and there is still a gap between the amount and quality of current case studies and the goal of forming research topics and develop-ing theories.It believes that the binary contradiction of the value orientation of institutional research subjects,the complexity of the case study methods and lack of uniform standards and systematic planning for case studies within the institutional research community are the main causes of the problems.The development direction of case study suitable for institutional research is put forward based on the above reasons.
