The Practical Dilemma of University Discipline Governance and the Path to Surpass
The knowledge production of university disciplines has undergone a transformation from the knowledge production Mode 1(the discipline autonomy)to the knowledge production Mode 2(the"three-di-mensional spiral"and"administrative dominance"),and then to the knowledge production Mode 3(the multi-subject and muti-governance).With the transition from knowledge production to Mode 3,the governance mode of discipline administration in Chinese universities is faced with a realistic dilemma of restricting the role of multiple subjects,being difficult to adapt to the development of subject elements,and affecting the recon-struction of discipline culture system.Based on this,the reform of discipline governance in Chinese universities should actively respond to the practical needs of knowledge production Mode 3,optimize the top-level design of multi-subject participation in discipline governance,build differentiated and personalized discipline gover-nance,and create a discipline culture system with both tradition and innovation,so as to provide institutional guarantee for the construction of first-class disciplines.
