The Characteristics and Influencing Factors of the Interaction between the Faculty and Undergraduate Students Awarded National Scholarships
In response to the practical problem of the insufficient interaction between the faculty and un-dergraduate students, based on the survey data of undergraduate students at H University, students awarded na-tional scholarships were selected as samples to study the characteristics and influencing factors of faculty-stu-dent interaction. The results show that the interaction between the faculty and the undergraduate students award-ed national scholarships(USANS)is mainly focused on learning, with no statistical differences in gender or grade, and there are relatively small statistical differences in discipline.Compared with other indicators of stu-dent engagement,USANS's level of faculty-student interaction is the lowest, belonging to the"depression"of student engagement. However, compared with other undergraduate students,USANS's level of faculty-student interaction is significantly higher, showing a phenomenon of"high slopes in low-lying areas".The faculty-stu-dent interaction is mutually influenced by institutional support and student engagement. In terms of institutional support,it is significantly positively influenced by extracurricular guidance. In terms of student engagement,it is significantly positively influenced by curriculum learning,self-directed learning, and peer interaction, with curriculum learning having the greatest impact. To promote faculty-student interaction,it is necessary to deeply explore the root causes of insufficient faculty-student interaction and use typical examples to drive general im-provement.
