Intentions to purchase and use autonomous vehicles for different perceived groups
In order to investigate the respondents'purchase and use intention of autonomous vehicle(AV)under the L4 AV travel experience, this paper classified the respondents into higher and lower experience perceived groups, and utilized multinomial logit model to establish the pre-and post-experience purchase and use intention model of AV for different perceived group. The results indicate that the degree of uncertainty about the thoughts to purchase and use of AV has a significant effect on the choices of intentions both pre-and post-experience,with the significance of this variable decreasing after the experience for the higher perceived group and increasing in significance for the lower perceived group. There is a strong positive correlation between the price of the AV and thoughts of purchase and usage, with higher prices increasing the degree of uncertainty about thoughts of purchase and usage, the more likely respondents are to shift from purchasing an AV to using socially shared autonomous vehicle(SAV).For the higher perceived group, the higher the perception of the driving process of the AV after the experience, the more they will choose to purchase an AV and use it by themselves, and the improvement of the perception of the travel experience and travel safety will promote them to purchase the vehicle and share it with others for compensation.Whereas, there is a significant decrease in the number of factors influencing the purchase and use intentions of AV for the lower perceived groups.
