Preparation and Application of Fluorescent Carbon Dot
Fluorescent carbon dots(CDs)with long-wavelength emission were prepared in a one-step hydrothermal process using anhydrous citric acid and 3-hydroxy-N,N-dimethyl aniline as precursors. The physicochemical properties of the CDs were characterized by UV-visible spectrophotometry, fluorescence spectroscopy,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and small-angle X-ray scattering.Investigations into their applications in photovoltaic conversion and cellular imaging were also carried out.The results showed that the CDs were spherical particles with uniform size distribution, possessed low cytotoxicity, and had good performance in photovoltaic conversion and cellular imaging.
