A Phase-optimization-based Two-way Green Wave Control Strategy for Urban Arterials
In this paper, a novel phase-optimization-based two-way green wave control strategy is proposed to improve the efficiency of arterial coordination control. By adjusting the phase composition and sequence, the proposed strategy can increase the two-way green wave bandwidth. Numerical tests show that the strategy can significantly reduce the average traffic delay, travel time and number of stops, while satisfying the requirement of the green wave speed for arterial traffic.
