Feasibility Evaluation of Multi-span Continuous Beam Bridges Based on Numerical Simulation
To improve the construction level of highway bridges, the G346 national road network three span continuous beam bridge project was taken as the research object.Based on the summary of the project overview, the traffic volume of the bridge was evaluated using the four stage method.Based on the predicted traffic volume, the influence law of main beam height on the safety factor of structural design was studied with finite element software, and the optimal beam height is discovered.Conduct longitudinal and transverse finite element simulation numerical analysis to comprehensively evaluate the rationality of bridge structures from multiple perspectives. The results show that in the early stages of project construction, the traffic volume grew relatively fast(with a growth rate of 18.98%),but the growth rate of traffic volume gradually slowed down in the later stages of operation. The bearing capacity and design bending moment of the bridge increase with the increase of the main beam height, and the recommended beam height for this bridge is 2.0 m.Both the limit state of bridge bearing capacity and the limit state of normal use meet the requirements of the specifications. The research results can provide reference for such structures.
