Selection and Operational Optimization of Turnaround Points for Suburban Railway Trains
To optimize operations and enhance the service quality of suburban railways during the urbanization process, this study delves deeply into the key influencing factors for the selection of train turnaround points.Firstly, major influencing factors such as passenger flow demand, operational conditions, and transport capacity were analyzed.Secondly, based on these factors,a model was constructed with the integrated objectives of minimizing the total passenger waiting time and train operation mileage.Subsequently, the Shanghai Urban Railway Airport Link Line was chosen for a detailed model validation and case analysis.Lastly, the results demonstrated that by designating Zhangjiang Station as the short-loop turnaround point and operating 7 pairs of trains per hour during the morning peak period between Hongqiao Station and Shanghai East Station, not only was there a significant reduction in passenger waiting time, but operational costs were also effectively reduced.
