Risk Warning and Variable Speed Limit Control Strategy for Secondary Accidents on Freeways Strategy
In order to reduce the probability of secondary accidents on highways, improve driving safety and traffic efficiency, innovative research has been conducted on risk warning and variable speed limit control strategies for secondary accidents on highways.Firstly, based on the collected traffic flow data,a Bayesian random effects logit model is selected to construct a secondary accident risk prediction model to predict the probability of a secondary accident caused by a single accident on a highway.Secondly,a variable speed limit control strategy is developed to automatically adjust the speed limit value of the highway based on the real-time changes in road traffic flow after an accident occurs. Finally, the speed limit values are released through variable information boards, and upstream and downstream coordination and control are carried out to actively intervene in the operation of highway traffic flow, adjust vehicle operating speed, etc.,in order to prevent the occurrence of secondary accidents.
