Comparative Selection of Station Types and Scale for New-airport Station of Hohhot-Ordos Intercity Railway
The new airport station is a newly built intercity intermediate station in Hohhot-Ordos Intercity Railway. As the central joint of multi-mode(such as regional intercity railway, urban rail transit,high-speed railway and expressway)integrated transportation hub.Determining the station type of the new airport economically and reasonably, meanwhile meeting the railway transportation needs of the hub is of great significance to help the new airport build a comprehensive transportation hub and exert the station capacity. In this paper, firstly, the passenger volume of the new airport station is forecasted, and then based on which the peak hour passenger volume and operation volume of the new airport station are analyzed.Secondly, with the number of passenger trains handled by the airport station taken into consideration,4 schemes for the type and scale of the station have been proposed and they are 2 with 4 lines(plan Ⅰ),2 islands and 4 lines(Plan Ⅱ),2 with 5 lines(plan Ⅲ)and 2 with 6 lines(plan Ⅳ).After the evaluation which specifically emphasizes on the aspects as the transportation organization, capacity utilization rate of the arrival and departure lines, project investment, implementation conditions and the impact on the airport construction. Finally, the reasonableness of station scale is calculated and demonstrated through the adaptability analysis of peak hour capacity. The research results can provide reference for the subsequent projects similar to the construction of high-speed railway underground stations in integrated transportation hubs.
