Planning on the Enhancement of Multifunctional Composite Medium-Capacity Bus Lanes
In order to construct high-quality and high-efficiency medium-capacity trunk bus routes, solve the pain points in the implementation and operation of medium-capacity public transportation in Shanghai, such as low passenger flow benefits and significant impacts on social vehicles.Based on the planning and research of the North-South Medium-Capacity Bus Project.Firstly, based on the research overview and current operation status of medium-capacity bus lanes, the necessity of a multifunctional composite medium-capacity bus lane that combines high passenger flow efficiency, connectivity with rail transit to promote the integration of the two networks and integrated optimization of the regional conventional bus system is analyzed.Secondly, based on the practice of planning projects, corresponding planning and implementation strategies are proposed, such as rational coordination of bus and private vehicle rights, integration of intensive cross-sectional schemes for road, bus, and pedestrian facilities along the route, integration of the two-network integration operation modes of conventional buses and connecting rail transit to enhance the overall traffic function of the area and corridor. Finally,an evaluation of its improvement effects is conducted. This paper aims to provide reference for the research on medium-capacity bus lanes.
