In recent years,domestic media channels have launched many bilingual humanities documentaries,and the mistranslation of subtitles has hindered people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries to a greater or lesser extent.According to Nord's functional translation theory,this paper classifies and analyzes the errors of English translation of subtitles in Episode 5 of Inheritance Season 1,and gives suggestions for correcting the translation,hoping to arouse the thinking of subtitle translators and provide reference for the research on English translation of subtitles for humanities documentaries.
