With the acceleration of globalization,the English translation ability of non English major college students is becoming increasingly important for their employment competitiveness and career development.The aim of this study is to explore the current situation,significance,and strategies for cultivating translation skills among non English major college students with an employment oriented approach.Research has found that there are deficiencies in translation teaching for non English major college students in terms of resources,practical opportunities,teaching methods,and teaching staff.To address these challenges,this article proposes strategies such as integrating translation skills with professional knowledge teaching,providing practice oriented translation training,etc.,aiming to improve the translation skills of non English major students,enhance their employment competitiveness,promote cross-cultural communication,and strengthen their professional knowledge application and innovation abilities.
