The"Double Reduction"policy aims to alleviate students'academic and extracurricular training burdens,as an im-portant member of public education institutions,museums have received new attention and exploration of their educational functions and values.This paper firstly outlines the functions of museum education,particularly highlighting its increasingly prominent role in enhancing students'comprehensive quality and fostering lifelong learning abilities amidst the implementation of the"Double Reduc-tion"policy,which has led to heightened demand for museum education from schools.Secondly,the paper analyzes unprecedented opportunities faced by museum education,such as increased demand from outside schools,deepened cooperation between museums and schools and technological empowerment,as well as challenges like limited educational activity formats,insufficient professional content expertise,immature cooperation mechanisms,high communication costs,and physical space constraints in educational re-sources.Lastly,the paper proposes strategies to build curriculum systems,innovate content and formats,strengthen resource devel-opment and team building,with the aim of enhancing the role of museum education within the context of the"Double Reduction"policy.
