Through the TAD734GE diesel engine instrumentation and control equipment failure,electrical equipment failure and mechanical equipment failure in three aspects of the analysis of dozens of possible reasons for the analysis of one by one to rule out and demonstrate,while the old starter motor simulation verification test and internal parts disassembly to do root cause analysis,and ultimately determined that the diesel engine did not rotate after the receipt of the start signal for the reason that the starter motor component failure(including electromagnetic relay switch failure,starter motor cable contact failure or open,starter motor electrical cable contact failure or open,starter motor failure),and treatment measures.It was determined that the cause of the diesel engine not turning after receiving the start signal was a faulty starter motor assembly(including a faulty solenoid relay switch,a faulty or open starter motor cable,and a faulty starter motor electrical component)and a faulty motor design.The measures taken to eliminate this fault were to replace the starter motor assembly and to follow up with an outline of regular maintenance preventive inspections of the starter motor and a discussion on optimising the start-up method to prevent a similar situation from occurring again.Meanwhile,it is for other nuclear power plants with the same type of main equipment as a reference for experience feedback.
