Effect of Mesh Type on Contact Force of Screw Conveyed Millet Particles
In order to study the performance of the screw conveyor and its changing law,based on the particle contact theory,using EDEM discrete element software,a screw conveying model with a dividing device was established,different screw conveying numerical simulations were carried out for millet particles,and the comparison of particle contact force under different mesh types was calculated.It is analysed that the refinement of the mesh affects the average contact force distribution between the particles and the screw body as well as between the particles and the inner wall of the housing,and the effect of A-type mesh becomes more and more obvious with the increase of the rotational speed.This study provides a theoretical basis for determining the mesh type for screw conveyor simulation and for improving the conveying performance.
