Effect of Different Rotational Speeds on the Force of Cutting Drum of Coal Mining Machine
A finite element model was constructed by using EDEM software to simulate and analyse the force on the cutting drum of coal mining machine under different rotational speeds.Taking MG500/1180-WD coal mining machine as an example, the influence of rotational speed change on the cutting capacity and force distribution of the drum is discussed. It is found that the force in all directions of the drum shows a tendency of increasing first and then decreasing under a certain drum speed. The maximum force on the drum was found at a speed of 30 r/min.With the increase of rotational speed, the number of remaining bonding bonds gradually decreases, and the coal breaking rate increases accordingly. From the level of cutting drum force and coal breaking rate, the drum speed can be increased appropriately, but at the same time, other problems caused by increasing the speed should be considered. This study provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the optimal design and rational use of coal mining machine.
