Taking the circulating water pump renovation project of a power plant as an example,through the understanding of the operation mode of circulating water pump,we put forward the frequency conversion speed control scheme and the optimised application strategy of variable frequency technology,installing frequency converter for the circulating water pump motor,improving the operation mode of the circulating water system of the power plant,realising the soft start,and safeguarding the stability of the circulating water pump operation.Practice shows that the circulating water pump transformation programme based on frequency conversion technology has good technical feasibility and economic efficiency,and effectively improves the operation level of thermal power units.
