Welding crack analysis of 6063/6082 aluminum alloy and its improvement of wire filling welding process
The effect of welding power and welding speed on the welding crack of 6063/6082 aluminum alloy was studied by using ring spot laser equipment with 6063 and 6082 aluminum alloy plates as base material. The welding cracks were improved by using laser fillet welding(LFW).The results show that for laser self-fusion welding, with the increase of welding power, the welding cracks decrease first and then increase. When the welding power is higher than 4800W,a large number of river-like cracks appear in the fusion zone and the fine crystal zone in the center of the weld. With the increase of welding speed, welding cracks increase obviously, and the size becomes larger, and the cracks are mainly distributed in the fusion zone and the heat affected zone. When the welding power is 4400W and the welding speed is 50mm/s,the weld crack is relatively small, but it cannot be completely eliminated. The LFW process of 6063/6082 aluminum alloy can restrain the welding crack well and improve the mechanical properties of the weld. With the addition of ER5183 welding wire, the weld forming is excellent,no cracks are found in metallography, and the shear force of the weld reaches 11260N,which is 31.5%higher than that of the self-melting welding weld(8560N).The main mechanism of LFW to inhibit the formation of welding cracks is to reduce the cooling rate of weld, regulate the Mg and Si content of weld, and improve the morphology and distribution of weld eutectic structure.
