Study on High Performance of the Separation on Six Low Content Components from Camphor Tree Essential Oils and the Antioxidant Properties
A method of staged vacuum distillation combined with column chromatography was developed on highly performance separation of six low content components with the initial content less than 10.0%to more than 80.0%from camphor tree essential oils,in which the six compounds included limonene(93.2%),bornyl acetate(87.5%),trans-nerolidol(85.8%),β-caryophyllene(91.1%),4-terpineol(92.6%),and α-terpineol(87.2%)were obtained by flash chromatography column with the yield of 36.0%,14.0%,11.0%,21.0%,38.0%,and 10.0%,respectively.Furthermore,the antioxidant properties of each fraction and reference compoundswere evaluated. The IC50 values of bornyl acetate,trans-nerolidol,4-terpineol and α-terpineol fraction were 96.6 mg/mL,87.6 mg/mL,73.6 mg/mL,and 105.4 mg/mL,respectively,which exhibited superior antioxidant properties compared to corresponding reference compound(monoterpenes). The IC50 values of limonene and β-caryophyllene fraction were 66.2 mg/mL and 48.5 mg/mL,respectively,which exhibited lower antioxidant properties than the corresponding reference compound.
