Effects of Dendrobium nobile Lindl Alkaloids on Posterior Capsular Opacification in Rats
To investigate the effects of Dendrobium nobile Lindl alkaloids(DNLA)on posterior capsular opacification(PCO)in SD rats.Forty healthy SD rats were randomly divided into five groups:Blank group,Model group, and 3 Model group+DNLA(high/medium/low dose)treatment groups. After modeling, the drugs were administered by gavage for 30 consecutive days.Slit-lamp biomicroscopy was used to examine the turbidity of rat lens, hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining was used to observe the histopathological changes of rat lens, and immunofluorescence was used to detect the expression of α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)in the epithelial cells of rat lens. The turbidity of the posterior capsule membrane of the lens observed under the slit lamp was in the order:model group>low dose group>medium dose group>high dose group. The lesions such as lens epithelial hyperplasia, inflammatory cell infiltration and fibrous tissue hyperplasia in the lens tissue of SD rats were significantly slowed down after administration of the drug, and the expression of α-SMA protein in the lens epithelial cells was significantly attenuated.DNLA used on PCO rats caninhibit the abnormal proliferation and fibrosis of lens epithelial cells.
