A Comprehensive Review on the Impact of Salinity,Freeze-Thaw Cycles, and Solidification Effects on the Strength of Saline-Sodic Soils in Alkaline Regions
Salt-affected soils present unique challenges in engineering applications due to their swelling, dissolution, and corrosive properties. In light of this, many scholars have conducted in-depth studies on the mechanisms affecting the strength of salt-affected soils. This paper com-prehensively analyzes the effects of factors such as salt content,freeze-thaw cycles, and stabilizing agents on the strength of salt-affected soils, revealing the mechanisms by which these factors influence the strength characteristics of salt-affected soils. The research finds that although some progress has been made, there are still some deficiencies in the study of stabilized salt-affected soils. The paper also looks forward to the future development of stabilized saline-alkali soils and proposes research directions for the use of green waste materials to stabilize saline-alkali soils, aiming to promote sustainable development in this field.
