Experimental Test on Residual Strength Evaluation of Rreinforced Concrete Structures After Fire
Despite the good fire resistance of reinforced concrete,fire-induced degradation can lead to strength loss and unrepairability.Accu-rate assessment of residual strength is crucial for the future use and repair needs of fire-damaged concrete structures. In this paper,a novel three-stage test method is proposed to evaluate the residual capacity of fire-damaged concrete members. The method is applied to evaluate the residual bearing capacity of four concrete beams under different fire scenarios and load levels. The results show that the damaged concrete beams retain significant residual strength even after exposure to fires exceeding their specified fire rating. However, the reconstruction scheme needs to be redesigned for repeated use.The proposed method can be used as a basis for a standardized test to evaluate the residual strength of fire-damaged concrete members.
