Analysis of the Influence of Reinforcement on the Failure Mechanism of Pile and Grid Composite Foundation in Substation
To address the shortcomings of the current research on the progressive failure of pile-reinforced earth composite foundation, the mechanism of reinforcement action is not analyzed. The strain softening model(Concrete Model)of the failure characteristics of unreinforced cement material is used to study the failure sequence of the pile at different locations, the ultimate load at the time of failure and the force char-acteristics of the pile, and on this basis, the mechanism of pile failure inhibition by reinforcement is investigated by comparing the reinforced and unreinforced cases. The results show that the slope supported by unreinforced composite foundation is more prone to bending failure, and the failure starts at the slope foot and gradually extends to the center of the slope. On the other hand, the flexural failure occurs at the foot of the pile and mesh composite foundation, and then the shear failure occurs at the center of the slope. The stiffness of reinforcement has a signifi-cant effect on the ultimate load of each pile.As the stiffness of reinforcement increases, the pile bending moment decreases, making it bear greater axial force and more prone to shear damage;the reinforcement will inhibit the change of internal force of the adjacent pile caused by stress release during pile failure;compared with the early stage, the inhibition effect of reinforcement on pile bending failure in the later stage is more obvious.
