Mechanical Anisotropy of Schist and Orientation Effect of Flaky Minerals
The mechanical anisotropy of schist under the condition of uniaxial loading and the orientation effect of flaky minerals were studied using indoor mechanical tests and numerical tests based on particle flow dispersion element technology. The results showed that the uniaxial loaded schist specimen underwent brittle failure, with specimens at θ=0 °,45 °,and 90 ° experiencing splitting failure along the schistosity plane, sliding failure along the schistosity plane, and tensile failure across the schistosity plane, respectively. As the orientation degree of flaky minerals decreases, the dependence of failure mode of schist on schistosity orientation tends to weaken, and the strength curve changes from U-shape to shoulder-and wave-shape.
