Research on the Critical Path of Literary Ethical Criticism
Literary ethical criticism is conducted through a logical path that involves historical analysis,discourse-led anal-ysis and interpretation, and conclusions about the functional value of moral instruction.Historical analysis, which includes both the real historical context and the fictional historical context within literary works, takes precedence.Discourse-guided analysis and interpretation enable literary ethical criticism to grasp events, plots, and structures related to ethics in literary works.Based on the moral actions and phenomena in the literature,it summarizes moral cases that can alert and inspire readers to reflect, thereby explicating the moral instructional value of literature. However,it should be noted that an exces-sive emphasis on returning to the historical ethical environment and context risks overlooking the contemporary value of lit-erature.The discourse-guided analysis model may leave readers with the impression of a predetermined stance and forced interpretation, seemingly forming its viewpoints and conclusions before the analysis and interpretation. If confined to this discourse-guided analysis model and falling into the trap of mutual validation between discourse and text, ignoring the value evaluation that literary criticism should possess, the effectiveness of literary ethical criticism will be compromised.
