Traveling Poems and Impressions of Jiangxi by Tang Dynasty Literati from a Transportation Perspective
During the Tang Dynasty,Jiangxi had convenient transportation networks, forming four main inter-provincial routes:Gan-Zhejiang,Gan-Fujian,Gan-Hunan,and Gan-Guangdong.For reasons such as roaming, exile, and official serv-ice,Tang literati who traveled between Fujian,Yue,and Lingnan often passed through Jiangxi.During their journeys, they composed many poems rich in regional characteristics. These poems are content-rich,not only documenting their travel ex-periences in Jiangxi but also reflecting the poets'feelings of drift and their social interactions, mixed with complex impres-sions of Jiangxi.Interpreting these poems from a transportation perspective allows for a clearer understanding of the travel routes of Tang literati entering Jiangxi and their creative mindsets.
