Imagery System,Cultural Connotations, and Life Impulse—On the Connotation Space of Poetic Images in Haizi's Poems
Hai Zi constructed a distinctive imagery system in his poetry, closely linked to his life experiences, poetic ide-als,and cultural philosophies.Based on a close reading of Hai Zi's poems, this paper categorizes the imagery into maternal, distant, and paternal groups according to their intrinsic characteristics and developmental processes.Combining the tempo-ral,historical,and cultural backgrounds, this study explores the cultural implications within the opposing progress of the im-agery system, uncovering Hai Zi's cultural contemplation, mission, and poetic spirit embedded therein. It presents an"in-trinsic life space"formed by the imagery system, highlighting the continuous life impulse within.
