Differential Analysis of aPLI Legform and Flex-PLI Flexible Legform Based on Experimental Data
As vulnerable road users, pedestrians have a high proportion of disability in traffic accidents. The lower limb injury of pedestrians in traffic accidents is an important cause of disability,so the lower limb protection ability of pedestrians is an important assessment standard to evaluate the pedestrian protection performance of vehicles. The leg impactors currently used to evaluate the vehicle's ability to protect pedestrians'lower limbs are mainly aPLI legform and Flex PLI flexible legform, there are differences in the motion posture response and injury response of two leg types to the same model and test position.Based on the data analysis of legform impact test two legs motion response and damage response. It is found that, during the entire impact process, the aPLI maintains a vertical position in the initial stage and exhibits a"C"-shaped motion posture in the middle and later stages, while the Flex-PLI always maintains a vertical position;the peak values, peak times, and curve trends of femur and MCL in aPLI are significantly different from those in Flex-PLI,while the peak values of tibia in aPLI are significantly different from those in Flex-PLI,and are basically consistent in peak times and curve trends.
